DJI appears to be gearing up for the launch of three new drone models in the near future: the Mini 5 Pro, Avata 3, and Neo 2, according to a report from DroneXL. The publication has shared leaked images and video of these drones alongside a new FCC filing, which also hints at the development of an action camera dubbed the DJI Osmo Nano.
DroneXL showcased a video featuring two of the drones, which are speculated to be successors to the Avata 2 and the compact DJI Neo. The outlet highlighted several characteristics, such as the placement of the Avata 3’s battery, which is positioned further back, and its larger front camera. Additionally, the Avata 3 is outfitted with four-blade propellers, unlike the three-blade design found on its predecessor. Alongside the Avata 3, there is a prototype of what is thought to be the Neo 2, which seems to feature updated propeller guards compared to the original model.
In a separate update, DroneXL also reported on an FCC filing that shed light on the anticipated Mini 5 Pro. The documentation indicates that the new model will feature an impressive 33.5Wh battery, a significant upgrade from the 18.9Wh battery found in the Mini 4 Pro. Furthermore, the wireless transmission capabilities suggest it could relay video from a distance of 25 kilometers (15.5 miles), exceeding the range of its predecessor by 5 kilometers. This puts it in closer competition with the DJI Mavic 4 Pro, which had an unexpected release in the US market. The Mini 5 Pro is expected to debut in September.
Additionally, the rumor roundup from DroneXL includes news about the upcoming DJI Osmo Nano, a new action camera that’s speculated to feature a modular display similar to the existing Action lineup. The outlet hints that DJI may also introduce a Mic 3 and an Osmo 360 camera, although specific release dates for these devices remain uncertain.
