Sony has unveiled the post-launch strategy for its upcoming online hero shooter, Concord. Following a recent open beta, the game is scheduled for release on PS5 and PC later this month. Developer Firewalk Studios has indicated that Concord will be available for a price of $40 (approximately Rs. 2,499 in India) and will exclude a Battlepass system. This announcement also comes with details of the first significant content update, set to roll out in October, featuring a new Freegunner, an additional map, new cosmetics, and other enhancements.
In a recent entry on the PlayStation Blog, Ryan Ellis, the game director at Firewalk, outlined the plans for post-launch support, including a commitment to seasonal updates and the introduction of new gameplay opportunities, rewards, characters, maps, modes, stories, and more.
Concord Post-Launch Roadmap
The first season, titled The Tempest, is expected to launch in October, bringing with it a new playable Freegunner, a fresh map, additional Freegunner Variants, cosmetics, and various rewards.
Season 1 will also introduce an in-game store where players can purchase customization items for their Freegunners. The studio emphasizes that these cosmetic items will be purely optional and will not influence gameplay mechanics.
Looking ahead, Firewalk plans to release Season 2 in January 2025, continuing with seasonal updates throughout Concord’s inaugural year. According to a visual representation of the post-launch roadmap, preparations for Season 3 are set to commence in April 2025.

Firewalk also provided insights into the Crew Builder system, which enables players to craft their own Custom Crew of Freegunners for online play. Each Custom Crew comprises 12 configurable slots, allowing players to select from an expanding roster of Freegunners and their Variants. Each Variant possesses unique modifiers that enhance base abilities, with additional Variants made accessible by completing in-game challenges.
This crew-building element is akin to deck-building, where players can choose specific characters or stack multiple instances of them to hone in on particular abilities. Furthermore, each Custom Crew will feature four Back Up slots, which will be populated with Freegunners not included in the player’s Custom Crew.
The blog post also included specifics regarding the launch timings for Concord across various regions. Those who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition can engage in early access beginning August 20. The full release for all players on both PC and PS5 is slated for August 23. Additionally, PS5 users who have purchased any version of the game are now able to pre-load it on their consoles.
