The CMF Phone 2 Pro is set to make its global debut, including in India, on April 28. In anticipation of its launch, the Nothing subsidiary has been releasing teasers about its features, with a particular focus on its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. Notably, CMF by Nothing has announced that the Phone 2 Pro will feature an AI-driven Essential Space component, first seen in the Nothing Phone 3a series on March 4, alongside a dedicated button for easy access.
Essential Space on CMF Phone 2 Pro
In a recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter), CMF by Nothing revealed that users would be able to utilize the “second memory” feature known as Essential Space on the CMF Phone 2 Pro. This feature, similar to what was offered in the Nothing Phone 3a series, will be activated via a dedicated “Essential key” situated on the right spine of the device, positioned adjacent to the power button.

Upon activation, the Essential Space serves as a centralized hub for various types of data, including screenshots, photos, and voice notes, which can be retrieved using AI technology. Additionally, the device will feature a function called smart collections that automates the organization of audio, images, and text into appropriate categories, thereby reducing the need for manual sorting.
The accompanying teaser clip suggests that the Essential Space functionality on the CMF Phone 2 Pro will mirror that of the Nothing Phone 3a series.
While the Essential Key also includes a Camera Capture option on the Nothing Phone 3a series, it is currently unclear if this feature will also be available on the CMF Phone 2 Pro. If included, it could allow users to efficiently capture photos and save them directly to Essential Space through the camera interface.
CMF Phone 2 Pro Specifications (Confirmed)
The CMF Phone 2 Pro will be driven by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro processor, which is touted to provide a 10 percent increase in CPU speed and up to a five percent enhancement in graphics performance compared to last year’s CMF Phone 1. To support AI functionalities, the processor includes MediaTek’s sixth-generation NPU, promising a performance output of 4.8 tera operations per second (TOPS).
On the photographic front, the phone boasts a triple rear camera configuration featuring a 50-megapixel 1/1.57-inch sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a field of view spanning 119.5 degrees. The upcoming device is expected to support 120 fps (frames per second) for games like BGMI and may also feature a 1,000Hz touch sampling rate.
Further information regarding the CMF Phone 2 Pro is anticipated to emerge as the launch date approaches on April 28.
