The CMF Phone 2 Pro is set to be officially launched on April 28, with the company unveiling details about its chipset just days before the debut. This new smartphone will operate on a MediaTek chipset, similar to its predecessor, the CMF Phone 1, but with promises of enhanced CPU and graphics performance.
CMF Phone 2 Pro Features MediaTek’s Chipset
On Wednesday, the CMF sub-brand of Nothing announced via X (formerly Twitter) that the CMF Phone 2 Pro will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro SoC. The existing CMF Phone 1 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. The upcoming model is reported to provide up to a 10 percent increase in CPU speed and approximately a 5 percent improvement in graphics performance when compared to the CMF Phone 1. This chipset incorporates MediaTek’s sixth-generation NPU, delivering 4.8 TOPS in AI performance.
Additionally, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is advertised to support 120 frames per second for BGMI gaming, feature a touch sampling rate of 1,000Hz, and provide a 53 percent enhancement in network performance. The design is teased to be both thin and lightweight.
The official launch will also introduce the CMF Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus earphones. The new phone is anticipated to maintain a design similar to that of its predecessor, with Nothing co-founder and India President Akis Evangelidis confirming that a charger will be included in the box.
The original CMF Phone 1 was released in July of the previous year, starting at Rs. 15,999 for the base model featuring 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. It boasts a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED LTPS display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This model also offered configurations of up to 8GB of RAM and a maximum of 128GB of storage. Its dual rear camera system includes a 50-megapixel primary Sony sensor and a portrait lens, while a 5,000mAh battery supports 33W fast charging along with 5W reverse wired charging.
