Electronic Arts has officially unveiled Battlefield 6, offering insights into its multiplayer modes, maps, single-player campaign, and gameplay during a livestream event held on Thursday. The highly anticipated military shooter is set to launch on October 10 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. Additionally, EA announced that two open beta weekends will take place in August prior to the game’s release.

Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Insights

During the livestream, EA showcased extensive multiplayer gameplay for Battlefield 6, highlighting various maps, combat systems, and the game’s class structure. The event featured gameplay clips with popular Battlefield content creators, alongside a brief preview of the single-player campaign.

EA provided further details about the game’s modern setting, which was initially hinted at in the recently released cinematic trailer. Battlefield 6 takes place in 2027, in a world where NATO has disintegrated, and a private militia named Pax Armata poses a threat to global stability.

Features of Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 will reintroduce both new and familiar features, including the classic class system that was controversially removed in Battlefield 2042. Players will have access to four distinct classes: Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer, each equipped with unique gadgets, signature weapons, and specialized training, as stated by EA.

The game will also feature the return of the series’ hallmark destruction system, which EA claims has been enhanced to allow for more strategic use of destructible environments.

A standout addition is the Kinesthetic Combat System, designed to improve player movement and shooting mechanics for increased mobility. Players will also have the ability to drag and revive fallen comrades and mount weapons on walls to mitigate recoil.

Battlefield 6 will present a variety of maps set in locations around the globe, including Egypt, Gibraltar, and New York. Iconic large-scale multiplayer modes such as Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush will make a comeback, along with popular FPS formats like team deathmatch, squad deathmatch, domination, and king of the hill. EA also revealed a new mode, Escalation, where two teams will vie for control of strategic points.

To prepare for the launch, EA confirmed that there will be two open beta weekends: August 9 to August 10 and August 14 to 17. This beta will offer players a chance to experience several multiplayer modes and maps across all platforms.

Pricing and Editions for Battlefield 6

EA has also revealed the pricing structure and editions for Battlefield 6, confirming earlier claims that the game will not retail for $80. The military shooter will be offered in a Standard Edition and a Phantom Edition, the latter of which includes exclusive in-game skins, weapon packs, and various rewards.

The Standard Edition is priced at $69.99, while the Phantom Edition will be available for $99.99. In India, the game will retail for Rs. 3,999 for the Standard Edition and Rs. 5,999 for the Phantom Edition on PC. On the PlayStation and Xbox storefronts, prices are set at Rs. 4,999 and Rs. 7,499, respectively.

Battlefield 6 is scheduled for release on October 10 across PC (available via Steam, Epic Games Store, and EA App), PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. Pre-orders are currently open on all supported platforms.
