Bandai Namco is preparing to unveil a series of exciting developments in an upcoming showcase scheduled for this week. The company announced that the Bandai Namco Summer Showcase will be streamed live on July 2. This event follows a busy month of June, which saw various game presentations from both platform holders and third-party developers, including Geoff Keighley’s much-anticipated Summer Game Fest.
Announcing the Bandai Namco Summer Showcase
The Summer Showcase promises to include a significant debut from the popular My Hero Academia franchise, according to an announcement made by Bandai Namco on X (formerly Twitter). In addition to the game reveal, viewers can expect fresh trailers for several other titles from the publisher.
The livestream is set to take place on Bandai Namco’s official YouTube channel at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET / 9 PM CEST / 4 AM JST (with a corresponding 12:30 AM IST on July 3 for viewers in India).
A teaser released for the showcase hinted at glimpses from the new My Hero Academia game and confirmed that the main event would include a reveal trailer along with an in-depth look at gameplay. The last installment related to the franchise, My Hero Ultra Rumble, was a free-to-play battle royale game that launched earlier this year.
According to the teaser, audiences can also look forward to announcements regarding a variety of other titles during the Summer Showcase, including Code Vein 2, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Death Note Killer Within, Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots, Little Nightmares 3, Patapon 1+2 Replay, Shadow Labyrinth, Super Robot Wars Y, Tekken 8, Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, and Digimon Story Time Stranger.
Details regarding the duration of the showcase have yet to be disclosed by the company.
This showcase comes just days after Capcom held its own presentation on June 26. The Capcom Spotlight provided an extended look at titles such as Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata.
Resident Evil Requiem, the latest entry in the storied survival horror franchise, was initially unveiled at the Summer Game Fest earlier this month, amidst announcements from multiple other developers and publishers regarding upcoming projects.
Additionally, June featured numerous showcase events from major players in the industry, including Sony and Microsoft. During the PlayStation State of Play, Arc System Works revealed new fighting game Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, while Koei Tecmo announced Nioh 3. Meanwhile, at the Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft introduced the next installment of Call of Duty and unveiled the first Xbox-branded portable gaming devices.
