Baidu, the prominent Chinese technology firm, revealed two new artificial intelligence (AI) platforms on Tuesday during its annual Baidu World Conference. The platforms, named I-RAG and Miaoda, are designed for text-to-image generation and no-code application development, respectively. The company also announced plans to release AI-powered smart glasses equipped with a dedicated AI assistant.
Introduction of Innovative AI Platforms
The Economic Times reported that Baidu presented its latest AI innovations during the conference, highlighting I-RAG as its proprietary text-to-image generator. Although Baidu entered the AI image generation market later than competitors, the company asserted that its extensive search engine capabilities will help reduce instances of inaccuracies in the generated images.
In addition to I-RAG, Baidu introduced Miaoda, a no-code development platform that enables users without programming knowledge to create software and applications. This platform utilizes visual and interactive features to facilitate the design process while automating the underlying coding work.
Miaoda reportedly allows users to articulate their desired applications through prompts, with the AI generating a prototype that can be further refined using additional prompts or visual editing tools.
The company also announced plans to launch AI-integrated smart glasses in China next week. Similar to the Meta Ray-Ban, these glasses will feature an AI assistant to assist users in various real-world scenarios.
During the conference, Baidu disclosed that its AI chatbot, Ernie, is currently responding to 1.5 billion user queries each day, a significant increase from the 200 million requests logged in May. However, the company refuted speculation regarding the introduction of an AI-powered super app, instead emphasizing its commitment to developing specialized tools.
