Sony has unveiled the lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus members for April. The titles set to be available next month include the first-person spell shooter Immortals of Aveum, the strategy spinoff Minecraft Legends, and the roguelike action platformer Skul: The Hero Slayer. These games will be available to subscribers at all tiers—Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium—beginning April 2.
The announcement regarding April’s PS Plus offerings was made on the PlayStation Blog. All three titles can be accessed by subscribers at no additional cost. Members can add these complimentary games to their library and enjoy them as long as their subscription remains active. Notably, these free games will be available until May 6.
Members interested in March’s PS Plus titles have until April 1 to add them to their collection before they are removed from the service. The previous month’s offerings include the racing sim EA Sports F1 23, the kung fu brawler Sifu, online shooter Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, and the survival horror game Hello Neighbor 2. Here’s a closer look at the games featured in April:
Immortals of Aveum
Immortals of Aveum, developed by Ascendant Studios, is a first-person spell shooter that immerses players in a vividly magical world. In this action-adventure title, players control Jak, a newcomer in the Everwar who uncovers his own magical abilities and aligns with an elite battlemage order to battle dark forces threatening his realm. The spell-casting gameplay mirrors typical first-person shooter mechanics, allowing players to utilize a varied arsenal of spells for both offense and defense in a semi-open world rich with side quests and challenges.
Minecraft Legends
Derived from the popular original game, Minecraft Legends offers a real-time strategy experience where players must defend their world against an invasion by Piglins. The game incorporates elements like resource gathering and base building typical of the Minecraft franchise. Players will engage in battles against Piglin outposts and raids while managing defenses and units. The game features a single-player campaign, as well as cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes, available on both PS4 and PS5.
Skul: The Hero Slayer
Also featured in April’s PS Plus lineup is Skul: The Hero Slayer, a roguelike-action platformer from SouthPAW Games. Players take on the role of Skul, a skeleton soldier engaged in a quest to save demonkind by overcoming heroes. True to its roguelike nature, this game presents procedurally generated levels filled with numerous boss encounters. Players can attack, dodge, and teleport during battles while acquiring new gear and abilities, as well as swapping Skul’s head for various skulls that grant unique skills. This title is available on both PS4 and PS5.
In addition, Sony is providing the Overwatch 2 Mega Bundle to PS Plus members this month, which includes various cosmetics and Battle Pass bonuses. Earlier in March, PlayStation released details regarding the upcoming titles for its Game Catalog, which includes marquee titles like NBA 2K24, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Resident Evil 3, Lego DC Supervillains, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and more.
