On Monday, Apple released macOS Sequoia 15.4 for compatible Mac computers, featuring fixes for over 120 identified vulnerabilities. This operating system update also brings the redesigned Mail app previously seen on iOS, along with seven new emojis and the Quick Start setup feature. Enhancements to Apple Intelligence are included, expanding their availability to more regions, including India.

macOS Sequoia 15.4 Update Tackles Over 120 Security Vulnerabilities

As outlined on Apple’s support page, the macOS Sequoia 15.4 update addresses a total of 128 security issues pertinent to the Mac operating system. Users are encouraged to update their devices to ensure protection from various bugs, including one that permits a password to autofill even after failed authentication, and another that allows websites to access sensor data without user approval.

Besides rectifying security concerns, the update enhances the Mail app on Mac, which now organizes emails into four distinct categories: Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions. Additionally, users can view a Digest View that consolidates emails from the same sender into one thread.

Apple Intelligence has been expanded to support multiple languages including Chinese (Simplified), English (India, Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish. Users in India can now access these AI features by setting their region and language preferences accordingly.

Furthermore, Apple introduced the Memory Movie feature to macOS, following its prior release on iOS. The update also includes a new Sketch style for the Image Playground app. However, it does not currently support the Priority Notifications feature that debuted in iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4.

Setting up a new Mac has become more convenient with the launch of Quick Start support in macOS Sequoia 15.4. Users can now scan an animated visual using their iPhone or iPad to quickly transfer settings and expedite the setup process.

To install the macOS Sequoia 15.4 update, users should navigate to the Settings app, then proceed to General > Software Update > Update Now. After downloading, the system will automatically reboot to complete the installation. Upon logging into macOS 15.4, users will be prompted to configure the newly available Apple Intelligence features on their devices.
