On Thursday, Apple unveiled new “spatial games” designed specifically for its recently introduced Apple Vision Pro headset. These games are compatible with visionOS and are accessible to subscribers of Apple Arcade, the company announced. Players can engage with the games using hand gestures, experiencing an immersive environment enhanced by augmented reality (AR) technology. In addition, users can explore a collection of 250 non-spatial games on the mixed reality headset.
Among the latest offerings, Apple has introduced 12 new spatial games available through Apple Arcade on the Vision Pro. Titles include Bloons TD 6+, Cut the Rope 3, Game Room, Illustrated, Jetpack Joyride 2, LEGO Builder’s Journey, Patterned, stitch., Super Fruit Ninja, Synth Riders, What the Golf?, and Wylde Flowers.
Apple demonstrated some of the games’ functionalities on the Vision Pro, showcasing the ability to control objects with hand movements and finger gestures. Players can move chess pieces, lift cards, slice virtual fruits, and capture musical notes through these intuitive gestures.
The company indicated that more spatial games will be launched for Vision Pro users in the near future, including titles such as Alto’s Odyssey: The Lost City, Gibbon: Beyond the Trees, and Spire Blast. Like the previously mentioned games, these will be accessible via Apple Arcade.
Access to these games requires a subscription to Apple Arcade or Apple One. In the United States, the Apple Arcade subscription is priced at $6.99 (approximately Rs. 580), while an individual Apple One subscription costs $19.95 (approximately Rs. 1,650) per month.
As Apple’s content offerings for the Vision Pro expand, reports have emerged on social media from customers expressing dissatisfaction after returning their newly acquired headsets, coinciding with the conclusion of the company’s 14-day return period. Some users have voiced concerns regarding the device’s weight, which can reach up to 650 grams, in addition to a 353-gram battery that connects via a cable.
