The popular strategy game Age of Empires is set to make its debut on mobile devices. The mobile edition of this historical real-time strategy title will be globally launched later this year, with developers announcing the release date. The game will be available for both Android and iOS platforms, and pre-registration is currently open. This mobile version aims to combine classic medieval warfare elements from the PC series with new gameplay tailored for mobile users.
Age of Empires Mobile Release
According to a press release from co-developers TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, and World’s Edge, part of Xbox Game Studios, Age of Empires Mobile will officially launch on October 17. A cinematic trailer for the game has been unveiled, though it notably does not feature gameplay footage.

Players can pre-register for Age of Empires Mobile on the game’s official website. The game will be downloadable from the Google Play Store and the App Store for Android and iOS devices, respectively.
In anticipation of its release, attendees of Gamescom 2024, taking place in Cologne, Germany from August 21 to August 25, will have the chance to participate in various on-site activities at the Xbox booth and the Level Infinite booth.
Age of Empires Mobile is designed to introduce players to new mobile-specific gameplay. This edition promises several single-player modes rooted in the Age of Empires legacy, incorporating familiar elements from the classic series.
Moreover, the game aims to deliver an engaging battlefield experience, featuring large-scale castle sieges with realistic weaponry and multi-dimensional defenses. Players can expect to manage multiple units in real-time, reminiscent of the gameplay in previous Age of Empires titles, as detailed in the press release.
