Microsoft is enhancing its Xbox Cloud Gaming service by allowing Game Pass Ultimate members to stream select titles from their owned game libraries. The announcement was made on Wednesday, bringing the cloud gaming feature live immediately to all 28 regions where Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) is offered. This update introduces 50 games available for streaming, including notable titles like Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Hogwarts Legacy.
Expansion of Xbox Cloud Gaming
Xbox Cloud Gaming, designed for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, enables users to stream selected titles from the Game Pass catalog directly on compatible TVs and web browsers on devices such as iOS, Android, PCs, handheld consoles, and tablets. With the new feature, members can now also stream games they own that are not part of the Game Pass library across supported devices. Currently, Xbox Cloud Gaming can be accessed on Samsung Smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV devices, Meta Quest headsets, and web browsers on various devices.
According to Microsoft, the feature will expand to Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on Windows in the coming year. In their announcement, the company revealed a list of 50 new titles that users can purchase and stream, with all editions of supported games available for cloud play.
“Our library of cloud-playable titles will continue to grow as we work with partners globally to provide a wide range of excellent games across diverse devices,” said Ashley McKissick, Corporate Vice President of Xbox Experiences and Platforms Engineering.
How to Begin Streaming Your Own Games
To start streaming a game you own on your PC, smartphone, tablet, or handheld via a web browser, visit https://xbox.com/play. After signing in with your Game Pass Ultimate account, select ‘Stream your own game’ to find cloud-playable titles you own or wish to purchase. You can connect a compatible controller to your device to start playing. Additionally, some games on PC will support mouse and keyboard controls, according to Microsoft.
For supported TVs, users should download and launch the Xbox app. Those using VR headsets like the Meta Quest will need to download the Xbox Cloud Gaming app. Once logged in, they can select ‘Stream your own game’ and connect a compatible controller to begin playing.
The Game Pass Ultimate subscription is priced at Rs. 829.00 per month in India, granting access to a wide library of games, new releases upon their launch, online multiplayer services, EA Play, Xbox Cloud, and various discounts. However, Xbox Cloud Gaming is currently unavailable in India.
