Freelancers, consultants, and startup founders often face challenges when it comes to finding suitable workspaces. While co-working spaces have emerged to address this need, many can feel monotonous over time. A Delhi-based startup, MyHQ, aims to offer an alternative solution.
MyHQ seeks to revolutionize the co-working space model by positioning itself as the Oyo Rooms of this market. For a monthly subscription fee, users gain access to 16 unique co-working venues spread across the Delhi-NCR region. What distinguishes MyHQ from traditional co-working spaces, according to co-founder Vinayak Agrawal, is its focus on restaurants and pubs rather than conventional office settings.
“Our goal is to transform underutilized real estate in restaurants and pubs into productive work environments,” Agarwal explains. He notes that many of these establishments experience only 10 to 15 percent occupancy during non-peak hours. The subscription model costs Rs. 4,500, which effectively includes Rs. 4,000 worth of food and beverages that can be redeemed at the venues. This allows subscribers 25 visits to the locations, with the flexibility of using them over an entire year.
This unique pricing and no-rent model may appeal to individuals who find traditional co-working options too costly. While companies like Awfis and WeWork offer well-equipped office environments complete with amenities such as desks and conference rooms, MyHQ caters to those who prefer a more casual atmosphere without sacrificing essential work tools like reliable Wi-Fi.
MyHQ assures that the partner restaurants provide designated co-working areas that are open from 10 AM to 6 PM at a minimum. Additionally, high-speed internet and printing services are standard offerings at these locations, according to Agarwal.
Although the concept appears promising, challenges can arise upon arrival at the chosen venue. Similar issues have been reported by users of gym aggregator services, where customers sometimes encounter restrictions on access.
Addressing potential concerns, Agarwal emphasizes that MyHQ operates as a managed service rather than a mere listing platform. “We maintain exclusive areas for MyHQ co-workers, which is a key difference—similar to the contrast between MakeMyTrip and Oyo Rooms,” he elaborates.
Currently, MyHQ boasts over 2,000 users, with more than 400 of them being paying subscribers. The startup is concentrating its efforts on the Delhi-NCR region for the time being, but expansion plans are set for later this year to include cities like Bengaluru and Mumbai. The MyHQ app is available for download on Android and iOS, with future updates focusing on enhancing networking features for users.
