Microsoft has introduced a new feature in the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview, which adds a “Share with Copilot” button that appears when users hover over an open app icon in the taskbar. This feature enables users to share the application’s content with Copilot Vision.
If you’re curious about someone in a celebratory dogpile or want more information about a sculpture you recently photographed, clicking the “Share with Copilot” button streamlines the process. Copilot Vision will analyze the onscreen content, providing users with insights and facilitating discussions through Microsoft’s AI chatbot, which can also deliver tutorials.
Despite the addition of more Copilot features, feedback from Windows users indicates a lack of enthusiasm for further integration. Multiple Copilot functionalities already exist in various apps, including Paint and Notepad, in addition to dedicated keyboard buttons and other interfaces on certain devices. Moreover, there is an additional feature in the same Windows 11 preview version that provides on-screen text translation. Microsoft has noted that this taskbar functionality is currently in a testing phase, and it may be removed in future updates before being made available to the general public.
