This feature, powered by Meta AI, is also accessible to beta testers utilizing WhatsApp on Android. Furthermore, the messaging service is exploring additional functionalities, including a structured thread view for message replies.

Users who update to WhatsApp for iOS version 25.19.75 can access a new option labeled Create with AI by navigating through Settings > Chats > Default chat theme > Chat theme. This feature was highlighted by WABetaInfo and is gradually being rolled out to users on the stable update channel. Although staff members from Gadgets 360 did not have access to this feature in the latest version of WhatsApp for iOS, it was successfully tested on a recent beta version of WhatsApp for Android.

Once the feature becomes available on WhatsApp for either iOS or Android, users can select the Create with AI option, which opens a pop-up card featuring a text field for entering prompts. Within seconds, Meta AI will generate several images that users can review by swiping through the previews displayed at the bottom of the screen.
For those looking to make further adjustments, a Make changes button at the screen’s bottom allows users to iterate on their wallpaper based on their initial prompt. After settling on a preferred image, WhatsApp provides options for repositioning the wallpaper and adjusting its brightness level when dark mode is activated, before finalizing it with a tap on the Set button.
Gadgets 360 evaluated this feature on WhatsApp beta version 2.25.207 for Android, confirming its functionality aligns with the descriptions provided by feature trackers. The AI generator produces images based on user prompts, though it sometimes overlooks specific instructions regarding colors or additional elements.
