WhatsApp for Android is reportedly making strides towards incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into its messaging services, with plans to introduce AI-generated conversation topics for users interacting with Meta AI. According to recent reports, the messaging app is developing a feature that suggests various discussion topics for users to engage with the AI chatbot. These topics will span areas such as education, humor, and alternate conversational styles that the AI can adopt.
As noted by WABetaInfo, a website dedicated to tracking WhatsApp features, this AI-driven topic suggestion was identified in the latest beta version, 2.25.10.9, for Android users. However, this functionality remains in development and is currently unavailable for beta testers.

Screenshots shared by WABetaInfo reveal that the Meta AI interface features a variety of suggested topics organized into different categories. At the top of the chat page is the Meta AI logo, accompanied by a scrolling list of potential topics. The images indicate that this functionality is part of a newly designed interface for the chatbot, which has yet to be officially launched. Noteworthy suggested topics include categories like “Humour,” “Talk like a…,” and “Learn.”
Further reports indicate that the updated Meta AI interface is expected to facilitate two-way voice conversations. This feature would allow users to initiate a voice interaction with the chatbot immediately after selecting a topic, providing a streamlined experience. This could be particularly beneficial for the “Talk like a…” segment, serving as a convenient preset. Users will also have the option to shift from voice to text chatting with the AI regarding these recommended topics.
The feature tracker has mentioned that the suggested topics will be continuously refreshed, adapting to current trends and user interests. Importantly, it has been noted that Meta AI does not retain information from prior conversations, leading to a generalist approach in the suggested topics. Additionally, WhatsApp is considering introducing other categories to further diversify the topics available. However, a timeline for when this feature will be accessible to users remains uncertain.
