The Vivo X Fold 5 was officially unveiled in China on Wednesday, showcasing a book-style foldable design. This smartphone features a 6.83-inch cover display alongside an 8.03-inch inner flexible panel, both utilizing 8T LTPO technology with a local peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Compared to its predecessor, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, the new model is reported to be lighter and slimmer. Additionally, the Vivo X Fold 5 is equipped with a triple rear camera system supported by Zeiss, along with dual 20-megapixel cameras for selfies.
Price and Availability
The Vivo X Fold 5 is priced at CNY 6,999 (approximately Rs. 83,800) for the 12GB + 256GB model, while the 12GB + 512GB variant is listed at CNY 7,999 (around Rs. 96,000). Higher configurations, including the 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB options, are priced at CNY 8,499 (roughly Rs. 1,02,000) and CNY 9,499 (approximately Rs. 1,14,000), respectively. The device will be available in three color choices: Baibai (green), Quingsong (white), and Titanium (black), beginning July 2, through the official Vivo e-store and select e-commerce platforms.

The Vivo X Fold 5 boasts an 8.03-inch 8T LTPO main inner display and a 6.83-inch 8T LTPO outer display, both offering a 120Hz refresh rate and 4,500 nits local peak brightness, complemented by high-frequency PWM dimming and TÜV Rheinland global eye protection 3.0 certification, along with Zeiss Master color certification. Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the device supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It runs on the Android 15-based OriginOS 5.
In terms of photography, the Vivo X Fold 5 includes a triple rear camera module featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor, joined by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom capabilities. The system also offers telephoto macro options. For front-facing images and video calls, both displays are equipped with 20-megapixel selfie cameras.
The smartphone also supports connectivity within Apple’s ecosystem, allowing users to link their devices, such as iPhones, AirPods, MacBooks, Apple Watches, and iCloud for seamless data access.
Powering the Vivo X Fold 5 is a robust 6,000mAh battery that supports 80W wired and 40W wireless charging. The device is designed with durability in mind, featuring an IP5X rating for dust resistance and IPX8+IPX9+ ratings for water resistance, with functionality guaranteed even at temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius. For security, it includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Weighing in at 217 grams, the phone measures approximately 9.2mm in thickness when folded and 4.3mm when opened.
