The launch of the Vivo X Fold 5 is on the horizon, with details about the device beginning to surface. Although the official launch date remains unannounced, a company executive has shared a teaser on Weibo, providing insights into the design and key specifications of this upcoming foldable smartphone.
The Vivo X Fold 5 is set to feature LTPO 8T panels for both its outer and inner displays, promising a remarkable peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. Additionally, the phone is designed to comply with IP5X and IPX9+ standards, offering protection against dust and water intrusion.
Han Boxiao, Vivo’s Product Manager, revealed an image of the inner display of the X Fold 5 on Weibo. The new device will boast an 8T LTPO panel across its screens, equipped with an adaptive refresh rate, ultra-high resolution, and enhanced pixel density. Both display configurations are confirmed to support 4,500 nits of localized peak brightness and high-frequency PWM dimming. The device has earned TÜV Rheinland’s global eye protection 3.0 certification and Zeiss Master color certification, underscoring its visual performance.
Furthermore, the company has stated that the Vivo X Fold 5 showcases exceptional cold resistance capabilities. All functions of the device are expected to continue operating normally after being subjected to temperatures as low as -20°C for extended periods.
The foldable device’s structure is claimed to satisfy an IP5X rating for dust resistance and an IPX9+ rating for water resistance. Vivo asserts that the X Fold 5 can endure being opened and closed 1,000 times, even when submerged at a depth of 1 meter.
The teaser campaign for the Vivo X Fold 5 commenced last week in China. This new model is anticipated to feature a lighter and thinner build compared to last year’s Vivo X Fold 3, which weighed in at 219 grams.

The device is likely to be powered by a 6,000mAh battery, supporting 90W wired charging and 30W wireless charging. Under the hood, the Vivo X Fold 5 is believed to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, along with 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
