Apple News+ has unveiled a new Emoji Game for its subscribers in the United States and Canada, perfectly timed for the celebration of World Emoji Day on Thursday. This innovative puzzle game challenges users to complete three phrases, aiming to solve each puzzle with minimal moves. Puzzles will refresh daily, similar to popular games like Wordle, while Apple offers a variety of other puzzle games through its service.
How to Engage with the Emoji Game on Apple News+
The newly launched Emoji Game is accessible exclusively to Apple News+ subscribers in the US and Canada. Currently, there is no information regarding its availability for users in Australia or the UK. This game marks the fifth addition to the puzzle offerings within the Apple News app, joining existing titles such as Crossword, Mini-Crossword, Quartiles, and Sudoku.
To participate in the Emoji Game, users must have an active Apple News+ subscription. Players can access the game by tapping the Following tab in the News app on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac devices to launch the daily challenge.
To complete each challenge, players are required to decipher three displayed phrases. They can use emojis from a selection at the bottom of the screen, while aiming to minimize the number of moves made. The app also provides clues for incomplete phrases, though requesting a clue counts as a move.
Subscribers can monitor their performance in the Emoji Game, including statistics and streaks, directly on Apple News+. Additionally, leaderboards through Game Center enable users to compete against friends who also tackle the daily challenges.
Apple News+ joins a growing list of platforms incorporating integrated puzzles and games. Other prominent news outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Telegraph similarly offer subscribers a variety of number and crossword puzzles, with some featuring competitive leaderboards.
