President Donald Trump has issued a warning to Apple regarding a potential tariff of “at least 25 percent” on its iPhones unless the company relocates its production facilities to the United States.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “I have long ago informed Tim Cook of Apple that I expect their iPhones sold in the United States of America to be manufactured and built in the United States, not India, or anyplace else. If that is not the case, a Tariff of at least 25% must be paid by Apple to the U.S. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
This announcement follows Trump’s previous remarks indicating he had “had a little problem with Tim Cook,” particularly in light of recent news suggesting that Apple plans to increase its iPhone production in India to avoid higher tariffs on imports from China.
