On Friday, Telegram revealed an important update to its app designed to allow creators to generate income directly within the platform, while also introducing a suite of new features. Telegram Premium users can now develop interactive checklists in both individual and group chats, enhancing their ability to manage tasks and monitor progress in real time. Additionally, channel subscribers can put forth suggestions for posts, opening a new revenue stream for content creators on the platform.
New Features on Telegram
The latest update from Telegram includes three significant features: collaborative checklists, suggested posts, and enhanced monetization options for content creators.
Collaborative checklists allow Telegram Premium subscribers to create interactive lists for various tasks, such as group projects or shopping lists. This functionality is available in group chats, direct messages, and saved messages. Users can define who has the authority to mark items or add new entries, ensuring better control over the checklist. To create a collaborative checklist, users can simply tap on the attachment menu and select Checklist.
Another notable feature enables channel subscribers to propose content, including promotional videos, user-generated art, and product reviews, within the channels they follow. This initiative aims to boost engagement and offers content creators a mechanism to receive and curate submissions from their dedicated audiences.
According to the company, suggested posts on Telegram can now be scheduled for specific dates. This feature has been augmented with the option to financially support these posts, allowing subscribers to use Telegram Stars or Toncoin, with channel owners eligible to receive rewards 24 hours after the content is made public.
For users who do not have access to Apple Pay or Google Pay, the platform provides options to purchase these currencies via Fragment and the PremiumBot on Telegram. It’s important to note that transactions made using Toncoin are final and cannot be refunded.
Finally, the suggested posts feature comes equipped with built-in monetization tools, which facilitate earnings through affiliate promotions and crowd-sourced content, all without needing to exit the app. Creators can also modify and negotiate the content submitted before it goes live.
