Teenage Engineering, renowned for its innovative electronic instruments and audio equipment, has unveiled a new computer case, the Computer-2. Continuing the legacy of its predecessor, the $149 Computer-1 launched in 2021, the company is touting the Computer-2 as the “cheapest computer case in the world” by offering it free of charge. Currently, the item is sold out on Teenage Engineering’s website, but interested customers can register their email to receive notifications when it becomes available again.

Similar to its predecessor, the Computer-2 is designed to accommodate small form factor builds. It provides space for a mini-ITX motherboard, an SFX power supply, and a dual-slot graphics card no longer than approximately 7 inches—all components users will need to provide themselves. A notable change from the Computer-1 is that the Computer-2 is constructed from a single sheet of semi-transparent polypropylene plastic, replacing the aluminum used in the original model.

The new chassis includes features like plastic hinges and snap hooks, allowing it to fold into a robust PC case equipped with a convenient carrying handle on top. Detailed 18-step assembly instructions can be found on the company’s website. Remarkably, users can install the motherboard simply by clicking it into place, eliminating the need for screws or brackets.
