Tango Gameworks, the studio recognized for its hit rhythm action game Hi-Fi Rush, has initiated the early stages of development on its next project. On Monday, the Japanese developer announced it is undergoing a rebranding process and actively recruiting for multiple positions related to its forthcoming action game. Although specific details about the new title remain under wraps, the studio stated that it is eager to attract developers who share its vision.

Tango Gameworks Launches New Chapter

The unveiling of a new website, accompanied by a refreshed logo and branding, marks a significant shift for Tango Gameworks. This initiative represents the start of a “new era” for the studio. The updated website provides insight into the studio’s creative philosophy, showcases team members, and lists current job openings.

In a press release, Tango Gameworks described the revamped logo and design as a representation of the studio’s aim to function as a “creative workshop.” This philosophy emphasizes creative ownership and the belief that individual contributions should culminate in games that feel “handmade with soul.”

While the studio has not revealed specifics about the ambitious new project, it has made numerous job openings available on its Careers page to support the development of this action game.

A New Path Under Krafton

The transition to a rebranding and announcement of a new project marks a significant revival for Tango Gameworks, which was previously closed by Microsoft in May 2024 following the release of Hi-Fi Rush. At that time, Microsoft also shuttered other Bethesda-owned studios to concentrate on its primary franchises.

The studio’s fortunes changed following its acquisition by Krafton in August 2024, which represented the South Korean company’s first major investment in the Japanese gaming sector. The deal included the intellectual property rights for Hi-Fi Rush, further solidifying Krafton’s commitment to the studio.

“Krafton aims to empower the Tango Gameworks team in their pursuit of innovation and providing fans with engaging and unique experiences,” the company stated during the acquisition announcement.

Operating as an independent studio based in Tokyo, Tango Gameworks is now set to focus on creating new intellectual properties while also building on its existing franchises.

Describing its partnership with Krafton, the studio expressed, “Tango Gameworks has always been driven by fresh ideas that ignite our creative teams’ passions. Now, as part of KRAFTON, Inc., we proudly uphold this tradition.”

Additionally, the studio commented, “With our integration into KRAFTON, Tango Gameworks embarks on a new journey dedicated to crafting titles that resonate with global audiences. We are committed to developing unique and innovative IPs, tackling challenges to establish a distinct voice within the gaming industry.”
