Sudowrite, an AI startup based in Los Angeles, unveiled its latest fiction-writing model, known as Muse, last week. This new model is specifically designed to generate creative writing pieces centered on fiction. Muse will be available on the Sudowrite platform, which features a variety of other writing-oriented AI models. According to the company, the AI has been meticulously trained to eliminate clichés, ensuring that every output is distinct and original. Sudowrite is also providing users with free credits to explore the capabilities of this AI model.
Sudowrite Launches Muse AI Model
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sudowrite’s Founder James Yu shared details about the Muse AI model’s launch, noting that it has been in testing for several months. The company collaborated with numerous authors during this phase to guarantee the quality of the generated content. Examples of the model’s writing can be accessed on a dedicated web page.
While generative AI models have made strides in creative writing, they often exhibit certain shortcomings, such as producing clichés, monotonous sentence structures, and predictable plot outlines.
Yu asserted that the Muse AI model addresses these issues by concentrating solely on fiction writing. By focusing on a single area, the model was able to enhance its specialization through targeted training methods. According to its support page, “Muse is the most unfiltered model on Sudowrite, embracing the full spectrum of human experience, including violence and adult themes.”
To utilize Muse, users can access Sudowrite’s AI platform, select the Write option, and then navigate to Write Settings where they can choose Muse from the Prose Mode dropdown. Muse serves as the default model for Write, Draft, and Expand modes. The company has emphasized that the model is designed to provide a high degree of creativity along with prompt adherence. Additionally, Sudowrite features several third-party AI models, including Claude 3.5 Sonnet, GPT-4o, and DeepSeek-R1.
The Muse AI model can assist users in generating prose from scratch, revising an existing draft in a specified tone, style, or structure, offering unique descriptions of words or phrases, and brainstorming plot points and character names.
Upon registration, users receive 10,000 free credits. Testing by Gadgets 360 revealed that generating a prose of 75-100 words consumes 25 credits. Once these initial credits are exhausted, users will need to obtain a subscription, which starts at $10 (approximately Rs. 870) and provides 225,000 credits per month. The premium subscription is priced at $44 (around Rs. 3,830) per month and grants access to two million monthly credits.
