Stellar Blade, the hack-and-slash action-adventure game, is embracing its influences with an upcoming Nier: Automata DLC scheduled for release on November 20. Developer Shift Up has revealed that this collaboration will introduce unique items inspired by the world of Nier: Automata, along with the addition of an in-game shop and a host of new features.
Details of the Stellar Blade Update
Shift Up shared information about the free update on the PlayStation Blog on Monday, outlining the collaboration and other enhancements. The developer highlighted the significant influence Nier: Automata had on Stellar Blade, showcasing the creative synergy between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro as integral to this partnership.
A key highlight of the update is the character Emil, voiced by Maii Kadowaki, who will be making an appearance in Stellar Blade. Emil’s Shop will feature eleven special items that represent a fusion of elements from both games, promising to deepen the gameplay experience.

The upcoming update will also bring a long-awaited photo mode, allowing players to capture various poses of Eve and her companions. Additionally, the patch will introduce four new costumes and an accessory called ‘Symbol of Legacy’, which will modify the look and functionality of the Tachy Mode.
Furthermore, the update will enhance language support by adding lip-sync for French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, and Latin American Spanish. Minor gameplay enhancements are also included, such as the option to select specific music tracks while at camps and a new customization feature to adjust the ponytail length. Combat will see improvements with the implementation of auto-targeting and ballistics correction for enemy insta-kill abilities.
Released exclusively on PS5 on April 26, Stellar Blade has already sold over one million copies, as confirmed by Shift Up in June. The studio is also working towards a future PC release. The game narrates the journey of Eve, a super soldier on a mission to save Earth from monstrous invaders.
