Korean developer Shift Up has confirmed that a sequel to its action game, Stellar Blade, is in the works. This announcement came shortly after the studio disclosed plans for a PC version of the original game during its latest earnings call. According to an investor presentation, the upcoming sequel is expected to be released before 2027.
Stellar Blade Sequel Announced
The plans for the Stellar Blade sequel were detailed in a chart presented during Shift Up’s Q1 2025 financial report, which also covered the studio’s performance, intellectual property developments, trends in the gaming industry, and future strategies.
As part of its plans for the game’s platform expansion—including the upcoming PC launch set for June—the chart indicated the sequel’s development timeline. Additionally, it highlighted “Project Witches,” the working title for another AAA action RPG being developed by Shift Up, which is slated for a 2027 launch.
In its financial report, Shift Up indicated that development of Project Witches is progressing well and that the company plans to initiate contact with the capital market and users starting in Q2 of this year.
While specific details regarding the Stellar Blade sequel remain scarce, the studio has not yet announced an official title. There is also a possibility that the new installment may be released as a PS5 exclusive.
Shift Up reported that the original Stellar Blade has “continued to perform steadily in Q1 2025,” with total sales surpassing initial projections. By February 2025, the action-packed title had sold over two million copies.
The PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch on June 11, available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. This version will feature new content, unlocked framerates, and additional platform-specific enhancements. The original game debuted on PS5 on April 26, 2024.
