Zynga has announced that its free-to-play PvP shooter, Star Wars: Hunters, will be available on PC. The game is set to enter early access on Steam starting January 27, 2025. Before its official launch, two playtests will be held on Valve’s platform. Initially released in June for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android, the game is now expanding its reach to desktop gamers.
Announcement of PC Version
Players can now sign up for playtests of Star Wars: Hunters on Steam, as revealed by Zynga. The first round of testing will take place from December 13 to December 16, followed by a second round scheduled from January 10 to January 13. Following these sessions, the game will officially launch in early access.
“We are excited to bring Star Wars: Hunters to PC! This is something the community has been eager for, and we can’t wait for you to experience the game on this platform,” the official announcement stated.
To ensure a seamless experience on PC, the developer noted that the Steam playtests will be conducted in stages, enabling them to gather player feedback prior to the early access launch. This will provide an opportunity for early adopters to test new features and contribute to the game’s development.
PC Features and Gameplay
The game’s dedicated Steam page is now live, detailing the PC system requirements and additional information about the game. Zynga highlighted that the early access version will include all elements players enjoy from the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions, including hunters, game modes, and core gameplay mechanics. The early access period is projected to continue at least until mid-2025.

The FAQ section on the Steam page confirms that the PC version will feature cross-progression, allowing players to transfer their progress from mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. However, the playtests will not allow cross-platform or cross-progression functionality to ensure fairness among participants.
Upon its full release, Star Wars: Hunters will support cross-play functionality across PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms. Zynga emphasized that while core gameplay will remain consistent, PC players can expect improved graphics, customizable controls, and settings tailored to enhance the overall experience. The game will accommodate both controller and mouse/keyboard inputs.
