According to a tipster, Samsung is expected to introduce its inaugural tri-fold smartphone in conjunction with the unveiling of its latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 devices. The South Korean tech giant’s next-generation foldable smartphones are set to debut on July 9, alongside the anticipated Galaxy Watch 8 series. Although the tri-fold smartphone may be revealed during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, it is anticipated that the device will not be available for purchase until later in the year. This innovative triple-folding phone follows closely on the heels of Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate, which was the first of its kind to be commercially available.
Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold Phone Poised for October Release
Weibo user Instant Digital, in a translated post, asserts that Samsung plans to showcase its first tri-fold smartphone, known as the Galaxy G Fold, during the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The Galaxy Watch 8 series is also expected to be part of the lineup announced at the event.
While the Galaxy G Fold could be unveiled on July 9, it is not expected to be immediately available for purchase alongside the new Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. Earlier this year, Samsung teased the Galaxy S25 Edge during its first Galaxy Unpacked event, with the device officially launching in May. Similarly, insights from the tipster suggest the Galaxy tri-fold phone may not hit the market until October.
Details about the Galaxy tri-fold phone remain scarce, but Samsung has previously revealed multiple foldable prototypes at various trade shows over the past few years. These concepts include the Flex Slidable, Flex S, and Flex G panels. A recent report indicates that the Galaxy G Fold might be priced above $3,000 (approximately Rs. 2.56 lakh) and may incorporate a silicon-carbon battery.
In addition to the anticipated Galaxy tri-fold phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Watch 8 series, Samsung is also likely to provide further information regarding its Android XR headset, codenamed Project Moohan. Furthermore, the company is reportedly developing a pair of advanced AR glasses that could be previewed at the upcoming event.
