Rumors are swirling around Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, the next iterations of the company’s foldable smartphone lineup. As the launch approaches later this year, details regarding the battery specifications for both devices have surfaced through a certification database.
Battery Specifications for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7
The UL Demko database lists two batteries for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, identified by the model numbers EB-BF966ABE and EB-BF967ABE, accompanied by certification numbers DK-163799-UL and DK-163657-UL, respectively. According to the information disclosed, the device is expected to feature a dual-cell Lithium-ion battery with capacities of 2126mAh and 2146mAh, amounting to a combined total of 4,272mAh. This figure likely represents the rated capacity, while the marketed typical capacity may be set at 4,400mAh.
If this information proves to be correct, it suggests that the upcoming foldable will retain the same battery capacity as its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
In contrast, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is anticipated to offer improved battery performance, with its batteries, model numbers EB-BF766ABE and EB-BF767ABE, reportedly featuring rated capacities of 1,189mAh and 2,985mAh. This configuration would yield a total rated capacity of 4,172mAh, which may be advertised as a typical capacity of 4,300mAh upon launch. These batteries are also listed with the certification numbers DK-163399-UL and DK-163928-UL.
The increase in battery capacity for the Z Flip 7 represents an enhancement of approximately 300mAh compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which sports a typical 4,000mAh battery.
Though Samsung has yet to officially announce details regarding its next-generation foldables, indications suggest that both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 have entered the production phase. The devices are expected to be unveiled in select global markets in early July, with availability potentially following just a few weeks afterwards.
