Samsung is anticipated to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in July, aligning with its established timeline for introducing foldable devices. Although the company has yet to officially announce the Galaxy Z Flip 7, various reports have emerged regarding the chipset planned for the new clamshell foldable phone. According to a recent report from Korea, Samsung is expected to implement a dual-chip strategy for its upcoming foldable smartphone, potentially marking the Galaxy Z Flip 7 as the first to feature the company’s in-house Exynos chipset.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Expected to Feature Snapdragon 8 Elite in North America

Korean media outlet Hankung has reported that the domestic variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will utilize the Exynos 2500 chipset. Conversely, in regions such as North America, the device is reportedly set to integrate Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. In contrast, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset globally.

If this speculation holds true, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could pioneer Samsung’s dual-chip strategy for its foldable phones. Historically, the South Korean tech giant has utilized both Qualcomm and its own Exynos chipsets within its Galaxy S series. The Snapdragon processors were typically reserved for flagship models in markets like the US, while Exynos chips powered devices in regions such as India.

Debate has surrounded the type of chipset that will power the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Some sources have indicated the potential use of the Exynos 2500 chipset, while others have leaned towards the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. Should Samsung choose to incorporate the Exynos 2500, it would signify a notable shift from the company’s previous dependency on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors for its foldable smartphone range. The earlier Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy.

Manufactured on a sophisticated 3nm process, the Exynos 2500 could enable Samsung to offer a more competitive price for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 while enhancing the synergy between its software and hardware components.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is poised for a July unveiling, coinciding with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Early rumors suggest that the device may sport a 3.6-inch cover display alongside a 6.8-inch inner screen. Additionally, it could be equipped with a dual-camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, along with a 4,300mAh battery supporting 25W wired charging.
