Earlier this week, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge, marked by its sleek 5.8mm profile, making it the slimmest smartphone in the Galaxy S series. While this device is yet to hit the shelves in India, speculation is already rife regarding the forthcoming Galaxy S26 lineup, especially the anticipated Galaxy S26 Edge model. Reports indicate that Samsung is considering substituting one of the devices in the Galaxy S26 lineup with an Edge variant, with the final verdict dependent on consumer feedback regarding the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Samsung to Introduce Edge Model in Galaxy S26 Series Next Year
According to a report from the Korean outlet The Elec, Samsung is set to add an “Edge” model to its upcoming Galaxy S26 series. This forthcoming entry, likely named the Galaxy S26 Edge, appears poised to replace the Galaxy S26+ model. This strategic shift may be part of Samsung’s approach to refine its flagship offerings.
The decision to swap the traditional Plus variant with a more streamlined Edge option will be influenced by the market’s response to the newly launched Galaxy S25 Edge. Should the latest device not generate significant interest among consumers, Samsung may opt to retain the Plus variant in the Galaxy S26 lineup.
The report also highlights that Samsung aims to ship approximately 37.7 million units of the Galaxy S25 series this year. The company has set a conservative target of 6.7 million units for the Galaxy S25+, in stark contrast to the anticipated 13.6 million units for the Galaxy S25. Additionally, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is projected to see shipments reaching 17.4 million units.
Moreover, the development of the Galaxy S26 series, referred to as NPA, is reportedly underway, with Samsung working on four different OLED panel designs for this upcoming lineup.
