The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is slated to be introduced to the global market on May 13. In anticipation of this launch, the tech giant has revealed that the smartphone will feature Corning’s latest display protection, the Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. Additional specifications regarding the chipset and camera have already been disclosed. Meanwhile, leaked information has surfaced regarding the phone’s expected pricing and notable features. The Galaxy S25 Edge will expand the Galaxy S25 series, which was first revealed in January.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Features New Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2
According to a press release from Samsung, the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge will incorporate Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for enhanced display protection. The company noted that this new glass variant contains “crystals embedded within its glass matrix” to boost the durability and crack resistance of the device’s display.
Furthermore, Samsung described the “combination of glass and crystal components” in Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, highlighting its toughened nature while ensuring high optical clarity. The ion exchange process utilized by Corning is claimed to reinforce the glass ceramic material, thereby augmenting its resistance to damage.
Anticipated Price and Features of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to come equipped with advanced Galaxy AI features alongside a striking 200-megapixel primary rear camera. It is anticipated to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and will include 12GB of RAM. The smartphone is likely to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, running on Android 15 with One UI 7. The device is reported to measure just 5.85mm thick and weigh approximately 163g.
Security features of the Galaxy S25 Edge will include an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and the phone will be rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. In addition to the main camera, it may come with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options are predicted to support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. A 3,900mAh battery is also expected to be included in the design.
Pricing details suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge could be available starting at EUR 1,249 (approximately Rs. 1,19,000) for the 256GB storage model, while the 512GB variant may retail for around EUR 1,369 (about Rs. 1,30,000). The smartphone will reportedly be offered in three color options: Titanium Jetblack, Titanium Icyblue, and Titanium Silver. The global launch is scheduled for May 13 at 9 AM KST (05:30 AM IST).
