The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was initially hinted at during the Galaxy Unpacked event in January, and while the company showcased the device at MWC 2025, it has not officially launched yet. However, reports suggest that this could change soon, with a tipster indicating that the smartphone might be released within this month. Additionally, it has been reported that the Galaxy S25 Edge could feature the same primary camera as the high-end Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Anticipated Launch Date for Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
Evan Blass, a well-known tipster, recently shared a purported teaser image for the Galaxy S25 Edge on X (formerly Twitter), which hints at a launch date of May 13. This image carries the tagline “Beyond Slim,” aligning with previous speculation that the handset will sport an especially slim design.
This date seems to align with earlier rumors concerning the launch timeline for the Galaxy S25 Edge. Initially, the device may not be available in all markets upon release. Reports indicate that the Galaxy S25 Edge could first hit store shelves in China and South Korea on May 23.
For consumers in the United States and other regions, availability is anticipated to begin a week later, on May 30. Pre-orders for the device are expected to open from May 14 to May 20.
Leaked Camera Specifications
In a separate development, following the report of the Galaxy S25 Edge sharing its selfie camera with other models from the Galaxy S25 series, new details regarding its other sensors have emerged. According to SammyGuru, the smartphone will feature the same 200-megapixel primary camera found in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This high-performance camera includes a 1/3-inch sensor capable of 2x in-sensor zoom, optical image stabilization (OIS), and an f/1.7 aperture.
The Galaxy S25 Edge will also reportedly be equipped with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, complementing the primary camera to form a dual rear camera setup. This ultra-wide sensor is said to be a 1/2.55-inch type, identical to the one on the standard Galaxy S25. Samsung has already provided a preview of the Galaxy S25 Edge, showcasing its vertically aligned camera lenses, paired with an LED flash within a pill-shaped module on the rear.
Further information regarding the phone’s specifications and features is expected to be revealed as the launch date approaches.
