Samsung was anticipated to announce the Galaxy S25 Edge this month, but a recent report from South Korea indicates that the company has postponed the launch by one to two months. The device, which was previewed at the Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this year, is expected to be the fourth addition to the Galaxy S25 series. It is rumored to have a thickness of 5.8mm, a 6.7-inch display, and will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
Galaxy S25 Edge Launch Delayed to May or June, Sources Say
According to a report from ET News, Samsung has pushed back the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge. The publication cites industry insiders who state that the company now plans to unveil the phone during an event in May or June. Initially, the device was set to be launched on April 16. Samsung has reportedly communicated this change to three mobile carriers in South Korea.
The adjustment to the launch schedule appears to be influenced by the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk Yeol, which is scheduled for April 4. The report suggests that this change was made to mitigate any potential decline in marketing effectiveness stemming from divided public focus. Noh Tae-moon, who heads the MX Business Division and also serves as the acting lead of the DX Division, is said to have played a significant role in this decision. Importantly, the report confirms that the delay is not connected to any quality concerns related to the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Samsung is expected to conduct an online event for the Galaxy S25 Edge, likely adopting a promotional strategy similar to what was used for the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition (SE) last year, featuring a teaser video.
The anticipated pricing for the Galaxy S25 Edge is positioned between that of the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It is expected that the 256GB storage variant will be priced around KRW 1.5 million, approximately Rs. 87,000.
The Galaxy S25 Edge was initially revealed at the Unpacked Event in January and was also displayed during MWC 2025. Speculation suggests that it will operate on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC and may include 12GB of RAM alongside a 3,900mAh battery, supporting 25W wired charging. It is expected to have a precise thickness of 5.84mm.
