Reddit has begun expanding access to its artificial intelligence (AI) conversational chatbot, named Reddit Answers, to a broader audience. The feature is now live for users in India and can be utilized through the Reddit website, mobile web, and iOS and Android applications. Initially, the platform launched testing of this feature in December 2024, targeting a select group of users in the United States. Now, four months later, users in various countries are finally able to take advantage of the new tool. Users can pose questions to the chatbot, which extracts information from posts on Reddit and responds in a conversational format.
Reddit Answers Allows Users to Ask Up to 20 Questions Weekly
On Thursday, several Reddit users noted the appearance of a new “Answers” tab within their app. Staff at Gadgets 360 also confirmed access to this new feature, located at the bottom of the app, adjacent to the Home button. The icon for the tab features a trio of shapes resembling water droplets arranged in a triangular formation.
Originally disclosed in December, Reddit Answers aims to assist users in discovering information, suggestions, discussions, and opinions available on the site. This feature remains in beta testing and is accessible to users in Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sweden, the Netherlands, the UK, and the US. Currently, the tool supports only the English language.
Under the current guidelines, users not logged into their accounts can ask a maximum of 10 questions each week, while logged-in users have a limit of 20 questions daily. Premium subscribers participating in the beta can submit up to 100 questions each day.

The Reddit Answers feature is presented in a full-screen layout. Prominently displayed in the center of the screen is the Reddit Alien logo, accompanied by the feature’s name. Users will find a brief description of the chatbot along with suggested questions to help them initiate their inquiries. At the bottom of the screen is a text field and a send button for submitting queries.
Upon receiving a query, the chatbot provides responses in a conversational style while linking to pertinent user comments on the platform. Additionally, it guides users to relevant subreddits for further exploration of topics. At the bottom of the responses, Reddit Answers lists the posts used to formulate the answer.
From observations, Reddit Answers generally delivers accurate responses for straightforward, factual queries. However, it may falter with niche questions that lack sufficient discussion on Reddit. Users have the option to provide feedback by indicating whether a response was helpful or not.
For example, when asked, “Who scored in Chelsea’s last match?” the chatbot replied, “Chelsea’s last match saw Estevao score a goal on his birthday.” It is noteworthy that Estêvão Willian currently plays for Brazilian club Palmeiras and will not join Chelsea until the next season.
According to its support page, Reddit clarifies that the AI chatbot employs in-house technology to search, synthesize, and summarize existing posts and comments from various communities on the platform. It is important to note that these responses are not subject to the company’s verification. Reddit also encourages users to verify information before relying on it.
Furthermore, Reddit has indicated that data collected from these interactions will be handled according to the company’s privacy policy.
