PlayStation 5 users can now take advantage of a promotional offer providing up to six months of free access to Apple Music, thanks to a new collaboration between Sony and Apple. This unique promotion allows even previous subscribers to enjoy five months of complimentary service, applicable for claims made within the next year. Last year, Apple offered a similar six-month promotion of Apple TV+ for PS5 owners.
In the partnership announcement, Sony detailed that the offer is specifically for new users of Apple’s music streaming service, while those who have subscribed in the past can still access five months for free. Interested PS5 owners will need to have an Apple ID in order to activate the subscription.
To redeem the free subscription, players must first download the Apple Music app on their PlayStation 5. They should navigate to the “All apps” section in the Media home, log in with their Apple ID, and accept the offer. This process will grant six months of free access for new users and five months for returning subscribers.
The promotional offer is valid until November 15, 2024, allowing ample time for potential users to take advantage of the deal. Subscribers will gain access to over 100 million songs, along with Dolby Atmos content featuring Spatial Audio support on compatible devices, according to Apple. This offer continues Apple’s initiatives aimed at enriching the experience for PlayStation users.
According to Sony’s official website, once the offer is claimed, users can access their Apple Music subscription across all compatible devices. The service is supported on a variety of Apple products, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, HomePod, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. Additionally, it is available on Android devices, Windows through the Microsoft Store, as well as on several smart speakers, including those from Amazon, Google Nest, and Sonos.
