Sony is preparing to release a special PS5 bundle featuring Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III in India. Set to launch on November 10, this cross-generation package will not include the new slim version of the console, which has yet to be introduced in the country. The bundle, priced at Rs. 49,390, includes the standard PS5 equipped with a 4K Blu-ray drive and a voucher code for Activision’s latest shooter. This pricing reflects a temporary discount of Rs. 10,000, valid until November 23. After that date, the bundle will revert to its original price of Rs. 59,390, aligning with the standard cost for any PS5 game bundle.

PlayStation has increased its marketing efforts in India, recently offering various discounts on the PS5 while bundling it with popular titles like God of War Ragnarök, Spider-Man 2, EA Sports FC 24, and Cricket 24 in line with the ICC World Cup. However, a notable difference exists compared to the US offering, where the Modern Warfare III bundle reportedly includes the $70 game for free with the PS5 Slim at a total cost of $499.99. In contrast, Indian players will receive the older PS5 model without the complimentary game.

The standard PS5 disc version is priced at Rs. 54,990 in India, while the upcoming Call of Duty title is listed at Rs. 5,599 on the PlayStation Store, culminating in a total cost of Rs. 60,589. Despite the temporary promotional price of Rs. 49,390, customers will be faced with the full price once the offer concludes. The bundle will be available through various Indian retailers, including Amazon, Chroma, Flipkart, GamestheShop, Reliance Digital, ShopatSC, and Vijay Sales.

The launch timeline for the slimmer version of the PS5 in India remains uncertain, and it’s unclear whether its price will mirror that of the current model. Sony has indicated that they will focus on selling existing models before introducing the new slim versions. The PS5 Slim is designed to be 30% smaller than the original, featuring a detachable disc drive that requires online registration. While the internal specifications remain similar, the storage capacity has been upgraded from 825GB to 1TB. Additionally, a digital variant of the PS5 Slim is available for $449.99; however, customers can purchase the Blu-ray drive separately, which diminishes its appeal as a bundle.

In other news, Sony has announced delays for half of its planned live service games, reducing the number from 12 to six titles expected by March 2026. During an earnings call, PlayStation COO Hiroki Totoki stated the company is re-evaluating these projects to enhance their appeal to gamers. Totoki mentioned that six titles are currently on track for release by the end of FY25, with the potential for further assessment of the remaining titles, which may involve consultation with Bungie regarding their live service strategy. It’s also notable that The Last of Us multiplayer game, previously reported to be ‘on ice,’ remains under active development, as confirmed by its director, Vinit Agarwal.

The PS5 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III bundle, along with the game, will officially launch on November 10.
