The lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus users in August has been announced. Topping the list is Lies of P, a highly praised action role-playing game developed by Neowiz and Round8 Studio. Launched in 2023, Lies of P is known for its demanding boss battles and a stunning gothic aesthetic inspired by the Belle Époque era. Joining this title are two additional games: the survival game DayZ and the fighting game My Hero One’s Justice 2.
Starting August 5, PS Plus subscribers across all tiers—Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium—will have access to these three games. Additionally, Sony is providing a selection of free avatars from popular gaming franchises for PS Plus members. The offerings from July, which include Diablo IV, The King of Fighters XV, and Jusant, will remain available until August 4. Below is a detailed overview of the PS Plus games for August:
Lies of P
In recent years, the Soulslike genre has gained significant popularity, with Lies of P emerging as a standout title. This game, released in 2023, took inspiration from the renowned works of FromSoftware to craft a unique action-RPG experience. Players navigate the fictional city of Krat, stepping into the shoes of Pinocchio during a puppet rebellion. Equipped with an array of mechanical gadgets and melee weapons, gamers confront numerous formidable foes and formidable bosses.
In June, Lies of P launched its inaugural expansion, Overture, which acts as a prequel to the main storyline. This action-RPG will be accessible to PS Plus members on both PS4 and PS5 platforms.

DayZ
Also joining PS Plus in August is DayZ, a multiplayer survival game originally developed as a mod for Arma 2. Set against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse, the game accommodates up to 60 players on a single map. Participants must scavenge for resources such as weapons, food, and medical supplies to survive in an unforgiving environment.
If players perish, their progress resets, enhancing the game’s challenging survival mechanics. DayZ allows players to engage in hunting, cooking, and utilizing various vehicles to navigate its vast landscape. The title is available on PS4 and can be played on PS5 through backward compatibility.
My Hero One’s Justice 2
Finally, PS Plus members will have the opportunity to experience My Hero One’s Justice 2 in August. Developed by Bandai Namco, this fighting game is based on the popular My Hero Academia manga and showcases a lineup of well-known characters. The sequel to My Hero One’s Justice, originally released in 2018, will be available on the PS4 platform.
