Microsoft has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available for play via Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) for Game Pass Ultimate members at its launch on October 25. This upcoming title will be accessible on both PC and consoles and was previously confirmed for day-one availability on Xbox Game Pass. In addition to Black Ops 6, last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and the popular Battle Royale title, Call of Duty: Warzone, will also receive Cloud Gaming support on launch day.
Call of Duty on Xbox Cloud Gaming
From October 25, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will have access to all three games on Xbox Cloud Gaming when Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. This rollout signifies the first entry of the Call of Duty franchise into Microsoft’s cloud gaming platform. With Xbox Cloud Gaming, players will have the flexibility to enjoy Black Ops 6 on multiple devices, including mobile phones, Amazon Fire TV, select Samsung televisions, and Meta Quest devices.
The Xbox Cloud Gaming service became accessible on Amazon Fire TV through the Xbox app in July, supporting devices such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023) and Fire TV Stick 4K (2023). Game Pass Ultimate members have the option to connect Bluetooth-enabled controllers with their devices to engage with titles from the extensive Xbox library.
Upon its release, Black Ops 6 will be the first installment in the Call of Duty series to debut on Game Pass. Earlier in May, Microsoft and Activision confirmed that the highly anticipated shooter would be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. As one of the most iconic and successful gaming franchises globally, its addition to Game Pass is expected to enhance subscription growth for the service.
Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is already part of Xbox Game Pass, having been added to the library on July 24 shortly after its release last year.
