Various rumors have emerged about the new smartphones, with a key highlight being an upgrade to the fingerprint sensor technology. This enhancement is anticipated to build on the innovations introduced with the Pixel 9 series.
Upcoming Pixel 10 Series to Improve Fingerprint Sensor Technology
The Pixel 9 series incorporated an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, marking a significant advancement over the optical sensors used in the Pixel 8 series and earlier models. According to a report from Android Headlines, the new Pixel 10 series is set to feature a faster ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
This upgraded sensor promises improved security and reliability compared to its predecessor, with enhanced functionality when users operate their devices with wet fingers. Additionally, it appears that Google will continue to include facial recognition technology within the Pixel 10 lineup, potentially adhering to Class 3 security standards.
The anticipated launch date for the Pixel 10 series is August 20, coinciding with Google’s Made By Google event. The lineup is expected to consist of four models, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, all of which may be powered by a new Tensor G5 chip. Other expected upgrades include enhanced image stabilization and improved speaker quality, along with the introduction of Google’s Magic Cue assistant.
Speculation also suggests that the new devices will support Qi 2.2 wireless charging in line with the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) standard. In conjunction with the Pixel 10 series, Google is rumored to launch a new set of accessories called ‘Pixelsnap.’ Furthermore, the inclusion of a telephoto sensor within the smartphones is believed to enable advanced macro photography capabilities.
