Recent comments from two voice actors have indicated that a remake of Persona 4 may be in the pipeline at Atlus. This speculation follows the successful release of Persona 3 Reload last year, a modern reimagining of the beloved 2006 title. Originally debuting on the PlayStation 2, Persona 4 later saw an upgraded version in Persona 4 Golden.
Voice Actors Hint at Remake
Yuri Lowenthal, known for his portrayal of Peter Parker in Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man series, announced on Wednesday that he would not be returning to voice Yosuke Hanamura in the upcoming Persona 4 remake. In a now-deleted post on Bluesky, Lowenthal expressed his desire to reprise the role, stating he had “even begged” both Atlus and Sega for the opportunity.
“For those who keep asking, no, I will not be returning as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake,” Lowenthal wrote. “I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back.”

The day following Lowenthal’s announcement, Erin Fitzgerald, the voice actress behind Chie Satonaka in the original Persona 4, also shared her own update on Bluesky. She noted that she had not been approached to reprise her role in the remake.
“For those asking, I have not been asked to reprise my role as Chie Satonaka in the Persona 4 remake,” Fitzgerald said. “I am blessed to have recorded as many Persona 4 games as I did playing her.”
Fitzgerald’s credits include multiple titles in the Persona 4 franchise, such as Persona 4, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth.
Neither Sega nor Atlus has officially announced a remake of Persona 4. However, Atlus has had success with the recent release of Persona 3 Reload in 2024, which was well-received by critics. Additionally, the studio launched Metaphor ReFantazio last year, garnering several accolades, including three major awards at The Game Awards 2024 for Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, and Best RPG.
Initially launched on the PS2 in 2008, Persona 4 received an enhanced edition, Persona 4 Golden, which came out on PlayStation Vita in 2012 and was later made available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox consoles.
