On Tuesday, Perplexity unveiled its most expensive subscription option to date, called Perplexity Max. This new tier targets the platform’s most engaged users and is priced at $200 (approximately Rs. 17,000) per month. To incentivize sign-ups, the San Francisco-based AI firm is including benefits such as early access to new features, priority service for third-party model usage, and increased rate limits. Meanwhile, the existing Perplexity Pro and Enterprise Pro tiers will continue without alterations.
Perplexity Max to Provide Early Access to the Comet Browser
In a blog post, the AI startup outlined the advantages of its new subscription tier. With the introduction of Perplexity Max, the company aligns itself with other AI leaders such as OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, all of which have rolled out similar $200 plans recently. This trend toward hyper-premium subscriptions is becoming common among Silicon Valley’s AI firms, with even smaller companies like Cursor beginning to introduce analogous offerings.
Subscribers to the new plan will enjoy unlimited access to Perplexity Labs, an innovative feature allowing users to create reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, and web applications. Currently, this feature is exclusive to paid subscribers, while Pro users may access it with certain rate restrictions.

The company plans to roll out additional features and products for this premier group of subscribers. Among the immediate benefits, Perplexity is promising early access to its AI-native Comet browser, which was first announced in February. Subscribers will also gain access to premium data sources and advantages from leading brands.
Furthermore, Perplexity Max users will have access to cutting-edge AI models such as OpenAI’s o3-pro and Claude Opus 4, with priority support available for those looking to utilize these flagship models for specific projects.
Perplexity Max is now available for subscription on both web and iOS platforms. New users can sign up immediately, while existing subscribers have the option to upgrade their plans. Notably, the company is also working on an enterprise version of Max that will offer unlimited query capabilities in Labs in the near future.
