The Oppo Find X8 Ultra, Find X8s, and Find X8s are set to be officially introduced in China next week. In anticipation of this launch, Oppo has revealed its innovative Lumo imaging system designed for smartphone photography. This cutting-edge technology, which accommodates various focal lengths, is scheduled to debut with the upcoming Find X8 series devices. Notably, the flagship Oppo Find X8 Ultra will be equipped with a Sony Lytia LYT-900 sensor. Additionally, the event will showcase the new Watch X2 Mini smartwatch, Pad 4 Pro tablet, and Enco Free 4 earbuds.
Introduction of Lumo Imaging System
Oppo introduced the Lumo imaging brand during its “Oppo 2025 Imaging Technology Night” event on April 2. The presentation offered a glimpse into the new camera technology, primarily focused on enhancing portrait photography. This new imaging system will make its debut with the Find X8s series smartphones (translated).
The Lumo Light Condensation Imaging System features blue glass that reportedly boosts infrared cutoff efficiency by 81 percent compared to traditional solutions, enhancing light input and overall image quality. The system comprises a light-sensitive computational optical setup with focal lengths of 15mm, 23mm, 70mm, and 135mm, complemented by a super-sensory digital imaging engine and ProXDR (translated).
The Lumo imaging engine also includes the True-Color ProXDR Live Broadcast function, allowing users to experience live HDR previews. Oppo confirmed significant collaboration with both Sony and Hasselblad in the development of the Lumo system. The upcoming Oppo Find X8 Ultra will be outfitted with a Sony Lytia LYT-900 sensor and will introduce the industry’s first ‘Danxia original colour lens zoned colour temperature application (translated).’
The official debut of the Lumo imaging engine will coincide with the launch of the Oppo Find X8s, Find X8s, and Find X8 Ultra smartphones on April 10. The event is scheduled to commence at 7:00 PM local time (4:30 PM IST), and will also feature the new Watch X2 Mini smartwatch, Pad 4 Pro tablet, and Enco Free 4 earbuds.
