Oppo K12s Launch: 7,000mAh Battery & 80W Fast Charging!

On Tuesday, Oppo introduced the K12s smartphone in China. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset and boasts a substantial 7,000mAh battery, featuring support for 80W fast charging. The Oppo K12s is equipped with a 6.67-inch display that offers a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and comes in three distinct color options. Similar to other models in Oppo’s K-series, the latest addition includes a dual rear camera system, highlighted by a 50-megapixel primary camera. Notably, the Oppo K12s appears to be a rebranded version of the Oppo K13 5G, which was unveiled a day earlier in the Indian market.

Oppo K12s Price

The Oppo K12s is priced at CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs. 14,000) for the entry-level model featuring 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Other configurations include 8GB + 256GB at CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 16,000), 12GB + 256GB at CNY 1,599 (around Rs. 18,000), and the top-tier 12GB + 512GB at CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs. 20,000). The handset will be offered in Rose Purple, Prism Black, and Star White (translated from Chinese). Sales are set to commence in China on April 25.

Oppo K12s Specifications

This dual-SIM (nano) device operates on Android 15, layered with Oppo’s ColorOS 15. It features a full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080×2,400 pixels, an adjustable refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The K12s is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. For thermal management, it includes a 5,700mm² vapor chamber.

For photography, the Oppo K12s includes a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor that has an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus capabilities, alongside a 2-megapixel monochrome camera. There is a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.5 aperture. The phone features an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.

Connectivity features encompass 5G, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, as well as satellite navigation options including Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS, along with a USB Type-C port. Audio is enhanced with dual stereo speakers, while security is managed through an in-display fingerprint sensor and facial recognition. The device incorporates several sensors such as an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, infrared remote control, and proximity sensor.

The Oppo K12s is powered by a massive 7,000mAh battery that also supports 80W fast charging. This feature allows users to charge the battery from zero to 62 percent in about 30 minutes. According to the company, the battery can provide up to 49.4 hours of talk time and nearly 15 hours of video calling on a single charge. It is also designed to retain more than 80 percent of its capacity after five years of regular usage.

Earlier, Oppo launched the Oppo K13 5G in India, offering a similar configuration with the same battery and charging capabilities, priced from Rs. 17,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.
