The OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 are set to launch in India on July 8, with the company announcing that the base Nord 5 model will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC and LPDDR5X RAM. This phone is anticipated to support gaming at up to 144fps. Key specifications for both models have emerged ahead of the official announcement, along with potential color options for the upcoming devices.
Key Features of the OnePlus Nord 5 Series (Rumored)
According to a report from Android Headlines, the OnePlus Nord 5 is expected to feature a 6.83-inch full-HD+ (1,272×2,800 pixels) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset may come in configurations of 8GB or 12GB of RAM, along with storage options of 256GB and 512GB. The presence of LPDDR5X RAM and the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip has been confirmed.
When it comes to photography, the Nord 5 is rumored to include a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens at the rear, and another 50-megapixel sensor for selfies at the front. Powering the device will likely be a 5,200mAh battery with support for 80W SuperVOOC charging.
Additionally, the OnePlus Nord 5 is expected to offer an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance. Its dimensions are said to be 163.41×77.04×8.1mm, with a weight of 211g. The phone may come in three color options: Dry Ice, Marble Sands, and Phantom Grey.
Importantly, the company has already indicated that the OnePlus Nord 5 will feature a 7,300sq mm VC cooling chamber for thermal management. It is reportedly capable of running Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) at 90fps and Call of Duty Mobile at 144fps.
On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 is expected to come with a 6.77-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,392 pixels) AMOLED display, also boasting a 120Hz refresh rate. This model may be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset combined with 8GB of RAM and could be available in storage variants of 128GB and 256GB. Like the Nord 5, it is believed to have the same battery capacity and charging speed.
The rear camera setup of the OnePlus Nord CE 5 is likely to mirror that of the Nord 5. For selfies, it is anticipated that this model will include a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone is also expected to feature an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. Its dimensions are thought to be 163.58×76.02×8.27mm, and it may weigh 199g. The Nord CE 5 is likely to be available in Black Infinity and Marble Mist colors, according to the report.
