On Thursday, OnePlus announced an extension of its doorstep pickup and drop service in India, now reaching over 19,000 PIN codes nationwide. This initiative aims to provide greater accessibility for customers seeking repairs for their OnePlus devices without leaving their homes. By enhancing these services, the China-based manufacturer focuses on improving its support network, particularly in tier 2 and tier 3 cities across India. Additionally, the launch of the OnePlus Service Camp will allow users with out-of-warranty devices to receive select repairs without service fees.
Expansion of the OnePlus Doorstep Pick and Drop Service
According to a press release, OnePlus reported that its pickup and drop service now encompasses more than 19,000 PIN codes in India. The company claims its customer service experience is reinforced by a multi-channel support system. This includes direct assistance via dedicated call centers, email service channels, real-time live chat, and validated support on WhatsApp.
Customers interested in utilizing the pickup and drop service can follow these steps:
- Log in to your registered account on the OnePlus website.
- Complete the service request form, review the service charges and repair costs, and submit your request.
- Use the pickup service to send your device to the service center.
- After inspection, your device will be repaired and delivered back to you.
The company advises users to back up their devices prior to sending them in for repairs to mitigate the risk of data loss.
OnePlus attributed the expansion of its service framework to community-driven enhancements and feedback gathered from users across India. This initiative is part of Project Starlight, a comprehensive three-phase plan that was unveiled in December 2024.
“This expansion in customer service is essential to our long-term vision for India, as it empowers more users with timely, transparent, and reliable support,” stated Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India.
OnePlus aims to improve customer service experiences, enhance device durability, and tackle display and other issues arising from challenging climatic conditions. Under Project Starlight, the company plans to invest INR 6,000 crore to bolster its customer service initiatives in India.
Introduction of the OnePlus Service Camp
Alongside the extension of the pickup and drop service, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus Service Camp, operating until June 30 at authorized service centers. During this period, users can receive complimentary device health check-ups and software updates for all OnePlus smartphones. Furthermore, users with out-of-warranty devices will benefit from zero service charges for specific repairs.
The company highlighted its commitment to expanding its service network to over 400 cities throughout all 28 states in India within the next five years.
