The OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R have recently made their debut in India and international markets, with the OnePlus 13 receiving its inaugural software update. This update introduces various features that were previously announced but absent during the initial review of the phone. In addition to enhancements in camera capabilities, users can expect improvements in stability and performance, alongside the inclusion of the December 2024 Android security patch. Notable upgrades have also been made to certain user interface elements. The update, identified as CPH2649_15.0.0.402(EX01), has a size of 988MB and is currently being rolled out to users who have already acquired the devices. The OnePlus 13, a successor to the OnePlus 12, was launched for sale in India on January 10.
This software update integrates the previously announced Touch to Share feature, facilitating content transfers to iOS devices. A new ‘Share with iPhone’ button in the notification tray enables seamless accessibility for sharing with iOS. However, users on iOS will be required to install the O+ Connect app for the feature to function properly.
Enhancements in connectivity are also part of the recent software update for the OnePlus 13, which includes optimized IPv6 connectivity over Wi-Fi, better stability with Bluetooth functionality, and improved overall network stability.
The new OxygenOS update is rolling out to OnePlus 13 devices
The camera application undergoes significant updates, including new shooting styles and the option to personalize watermarks. Improvements aim to enhance preview clarity in Portrait and Photo modes, as well as clarity in 4K video recordings at 60 fps.
Of particular note, the update addresses the color tone discrepancies between the main camera and the telephoto camera, an issue highlighted in previous reviews.
Additionally, the Live Alerts functionality has been revamped to resemble a Dynamic Island-style bubble, which now conveys the phone’s charging status, whether plugged in or charging wirelessly.
Finally, the update’s changelog mentions the inclusion of AI features in Google Messages. Following an update from the Play Store, Messages will introduce a new Magic Compose feature, reportedly working entirely on-device after an AI Core update. Other minor visual enhancements include a refreshed 1×2 Weather widget, improved step tracker and Storage cleaner widgets, and a new two-tone theme in the Wallpapers & Style section’s Color selection.
