Bethesda has announced that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has attracted over four million players within just four days of its release. This remastered edition of the beloved 2006 RPG was revealed and made available on April 22 across multiple platforms, including PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. It has quickly gained popularity, achieving more than 200,000 peak concurrent players on Steam.

In a post on X, Bethesda expressed gratitude to its player base, stating, “We are so grateful to the over 4 million of you that have already ventured into Cyrodiil with Oblivion Remastered. Thank you!” This milestone reflects engagement across all supported platforms, with a significant number of players likely accessing the game through Xbox Game Pass. The launch coincided with the game being made available on Microsoft’s subscription service, allowing PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to play at no additional cost.

Oblivion Remastered Dominates Steam
Despite being included in Game Pass, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has also achieved remarkable success on Steam. Current data from SteamDB indicates that the game has surpassed 200,000 peak concurrent players on the platform. At the time of writing, more than 74,000 players were actively engaged in the game.
The title is now among the most-played games on Steam, only trailing behind major titles like Counter-Strike 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and Dota 2 in player counts over the last 24 hours.
The remaster was released unexpectedly on April 22, following various leaks suggesting its imminent launch. This updated version features enhanced graphics, with assets completely rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5.
In addition to visual improvements, gameplay and user interface enhancements have been integrated, bringing new quality-of-life features to modernize the RPG experience. The remastered edition includes the original game along with the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions, in addition to extra downloadable content, such as the well-known Horse Armor Pack.
