Nvidia introduced the GeForce RTX 5050 on Tuesday, marking its new entry-level RTX graphic card intended for both desktops and laptops. This model follows the GeForce RTX 3050, which debuted at CES 2022. The RTX 5050 is powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell CUDA cores and is equipped with 8GB of video memory. Positioned below the RTX 5060, the GPU supports ray tracing, Nvidia Reflex, and DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation (MFG).
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 Pricing and Availability
The starting price for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 is set at $249 (approximately Rs. 21,400). The graphics card will be distributed by multiple OEMs, such as Asus, Colorful, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Inno3D, MSI, Palit, PNY, and Zotac. Consumers can expect to find these GPUs available for purchase starting in the second half of July.
For those interested in laptops powered by the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050, options are currently on the market, with prices beginning at $999 (around Rs. 85,900). Asus has taken the lead as the first manufacturer to launch gaming laptops featuring this new GPU in India.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 Specifications and Features
The GeForce RTX 5050 boasts a peak clock speed of 2.57GHz and includes 2,560 Blackwell CUDA cores, along with fifth-generation Tensor cores and fourth-generation ray tracing cores. The GPU is capable of delivering up to 440 trillion operations per second (TOPS) for on-device AI capabilities.
In terms of connectivity, the RTX 5050 supports an HDMI 2.1b port and three DisplayPort 2.1b ports. The desktop variant has a power draw of up to 130W under stock speeds. Nvidia claims that the RTX 5050 provides up to 60 percent improved performance compared to its predecessor, the GeForce RTX 3050, which was launched over two years prior.
Distinct from other models in the RTX 50 series, the desktop version of the GeForce RTX 5050 comes with 8GB of GDDR6 video memory. In contrast, the laptop variant utilizes GDDR7 memory for greater energy efficiency. This GPU is designed to support ray tracing in various popular gaming titles along with DLSS 4 with MFG and Nvidia Reflex.
