Nvidia introduced a new personal supercomputer featuring its proprietary Grace Blackwell Superchip during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 on Monday. Named Project Digits, this advanced device is designed to develop, run inference, and deploy significant artificial intelligence (AI) models. The personal computer incorporates the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, achieving up to one petaflop (1,000 trillion floating-point operations per second) in AI performance. The company announced that this desktop system is set to hit the market in May.

In a recent news release, Nvidia detailed its personal AI supercomputer aimed at retail consumers. The device is touted as the world’s smallest AI supercomputer, featuring the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip system on a chip (SoC). This technology enables complex on-device computing and supports the development of processing-heavy applications, with a focus on AI-related workflows.

The chipset includes an Nvidia Blackwell GPU equipped with CUDA and Tensor cores, alongside an Arm-based Nvidia Grace CPU featuring 20 efficiency cores. This innovative chipset was created in collaboration with MediaTek.

Project Digits includes 128GB of RAM and up to 4TB of NVMe SSD storage. While each unit operates independently, Nvidia also provides ConnectX networking, enabling two Project Digit AI supercomputers to connect with each other. This networked configuration is capable of running AI models with up to 405 billion parameters, according to the company.

According to Nvidia, developers can create, execute, and deploy AI models locally with up to 200 billion parameters, harnessing the power of one petaflop of AI computing. This capability encompasses most open-source AI models, with the exception of a few, such as Meta’s Llama 3.1, which has 405 billion parameters.

“With Project Digits, the Grace Blackwell Superchip becomes accessible to millions of developers. Equipping the desks of every data scientist, AI researcher, and student with an AI supercomputer enables them to actively participate in and influence the AI era,” remarked Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia.

Nvidia confirmed that Project Digits will be available for purchase in May through its website and partner retailers, with a starting price of $3,000 (approximately Rs. 2,57,600).
